Title Detail
ARRANGEMENT OF PAIRINGS
Hole assignments and groupings for all Prep and Medalist Tour events will be done on a blind draw, based on age group and gender, or as otherwise determined by the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation. For each event the Northern Texas PGA will pair the top 1/3 of the division based on their NTPGA scoring average, a minimum of one (1) pairing per division will be paired at each event.

For all events, requests for starting times or specific groupings will not be accommodated. Players will not be called to their tees. Players shall start at the time and the order arranged unless otherwise informed by the Committee. Prompt attendance is required of all players at their starting point of each round. Time of starting penalties shall be consistent with Rule 6–3 and the Note to Rule 6–3 in the USGA Rules of Golf. Each contestant is responsible for obtaining his/her starting time.
BREAKING TIES

In Medalist and Prep Tour events the NTPGA official policy for breaking ties is the same as defined by the USGA in Appendix I, by matching score cards. The method of matching score cards to determine the winner will begin by using the last nine (9) holes. If the players have the same score for the last nine (9), we will use the last six (6) holes, last three (3) holes and finally the 18th hole. If this method is used in a competition with a multiple tee start, it is recommended that the “last nine holes, last six holes, etc.” is considered to be holes 10–18, 13–18, etc. If after proceeding with this method the winner has yet to be determined, we will continue on by comparing score cards from the 17th hole and continuing backwards by comparing the 16th hole, 15th hole, etc. until a winner has been determined.

ON-SITE CHECK-IN POLICY

Participants in all Prep and Medalist Tour events must register or be in line to register 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the tournament. All reservations may be cancelled after that time and members may not receive a refund.

Example: If a tournament is scheduled to begin with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun, a participant must be checked in (or in line to check in) by 7:30 a.m. Otherwise, the Foundation reserves the right to cancel the participant’s registration and use it for a walk-up participant. If a tournament is using tee times, participants must be checked in (or in line to check in) 30 minutes prior to their scheduled starting time.

SPECTATOR GUIDELINES
The Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation encourages spectators and parents to attend NTPGA Junior Tour events. However, the Foundation requires all spectators and parents to conduct themselves appropriately at all times.

Rule 8 in the USGA Rules of Golf states, “ Advice is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of club or method of making a stroke.” With this statement in mind, please keep your conversation with the player to words of encouragement only.  Giving players advice is not permitted.

Spectators should stay one shot ahead of the group they are following. This allows spectators to follow errant shots and help identify where the ball comes to rest. Spectators are allowed to aid in search in the search for lost golf balls. Spectators should not give rulings, please seek an NTPGA rules official if the need arises. Spectators should stay on cart paths. In the absence of cart paths, we ask that spectators stay in the rough. Please stay off fairways, tees and greens. Spectators are allowed to carry medicine, drinks, food umbrellas, etc. The Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation reserves the right to suspend and/or ban any spectator from one or more events. Failure to comply with the Rules and Regulations may result in the immediate removal from the host facility and/or suspension of playing privileges for the member.
WALK-UP POLICY
Walk-up lists will be used to place members into events that they were not otherwise entered for. The list will begin the morning of the event when the NTPGA staff or official in charge arrives approximately an hour and a half before the scheduled start of the event. No other list should be signed or circulated until NTPGA staff or official in charge starts the official walk-up list the day of the event. Any such list will be disregarded.

Members on the walk-up list will replace no-shows on a first-come, first-serve basis within the applicable age group. Members, if placed in the tournament, must pay the appropriate entry fee on site or have an account credit with the NTPGA that will cover tournament fees; without sufficient funds you will be denied entry. The NTPGA does not guarantee that signing the walk-up list will ensure a spot in the tournament. Anyone walking up to an event will be subjected to an additional $10.00 processing fee.
