Eligibility:
Open to 2008 NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation members, ages 12-18, teamed with one parent. The “parent” can include the following: parent, step-parent, guardian, grandparent aunt or uncle. The field is limited to 60 teams.
Format:
18 holes, 2 – Person Scramble, with each team competing in the appropriate age level of the junior member (Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 12-13, Girls 15-18, Girls 12-14). No handicaps will be used in this format.
Scramble Format:
In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.
Shotgun Start:
Play will commence with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start.
Golf Carts:
Each team will be allowed the use of one (1) golf cart per team with a maximum of two (2) golf carts per group. Junior members must have a driver’s license to operate a golf cart.
Tees:
All boys’ ages 14-18 will play the WHITE tees, boys’ ages 12-13 will play the GOLD tees, all girls’ will play the RED tees. All MALE parents will play the WHITE tees and all FEMALE parents will play the RED tees. White tees will play approximately 6,500 yards, gold tees will play 5,800 yards and red tees 5,000 yards.
Entry Fee:
$80.00 per person. This includes each contestant’s green fees, golf cart, range balls, tee gifts, dinner buffet and awards.
Entry Deadline:
Tuesday, June 17 at 5:00 p.m. CST. Entry forms shall be returned to the Northern Texas PGA via mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person prior to the entry deadline. Online sign up is also available at http://juniorgolf.ntpga.org.
Refunds:
All refund requests must be made prior to the entry deadline, after which refunds will not be granted. NOTE: A $20.00 administrative fee will be charged should a team withdraw from the event.
Dress Code:
Proper golf attire is required of all contestants during the Parent-Junior Golf Classic and any applicable practice rounds. Contestants shall present a neat appearance, appropriate to the game of golf. Denim clothing shall not be worn at the tournament site. Bermuda length shorts are permitted. Dress code will be strictly enforced. Please review the NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation dress code policy in the 2008 Member Handbook available at http://juniorgolf.ntpga.org.
Non-Metal Spikes:
Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club is a non-metal spike facility. Shoes with metal or ceramic spike(s) will not be permitted.
Measuring Devices:
The use of distance measuring devices will NOT be permitted during the Parent-Junior Golf Classic.
Dinner:
There will be a complimentary dinner available to all registered players following play. Additional guests may purchase a meal ticket that evening.
Practice Rounds:
Contact Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club to schedule a practice round. Practice rounds will be available any time during the week and on the weekends after 1:00 p.m. on a space available basis at a special rate of $15.00 + tax/per person for contestants only.
