Eligibility:
Open to all 2008 Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation members (2008 membership fee is $60.00). To receive more information about becoming an NTPGA Foundation member you can visit our website at http://juniorgolf.ntpga.org or call us at (214) 420-7421.
Format:
Individual stroke play over 18 holes for players 12-18 and over 9 holes for players 7-11.
Contests:
This event will use the standard age divisions set forth by the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation;
Boys 16-18, 14-15, 12-13, 10-11, Girls 15-18, 12-14, 10-11 and Coed 7-9.
Entry Fee:
$75.00, this includes golf, range balls, breakfast and lunch, tee gifts, and welcome packet from SporTyler and our sponsors.
Entry Deadline:
Friday, March 7 at 5:00 p.m. CST. The first 144 entries will be accepted into the field, the field will be capped at 42 players aged 7-11 and 102 players aged 12-18. Entry forms shall be returned to the Northern Texas PGA via mail, facsimile, overnight carrier or in person prior to the entry deadline. On-line entries will also be accepted at http://juniorgolf.ntpga.org.
Starting Times:
Tournament starting times will be available by calling Hollytree CC, the Northern Texas PGA or checking http://juniorgolf.ntpga.org on Saturday, March 8.
Practice Rounds:
Practice rounds will be available anytime on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday immediately prior to the event. Practice rounds are for PLAYERS ONLY and the cost will be $20.00. Please contact Hollytree CC in advance to set up a practice round starting time.
Attire:
Hollytree CC will enforce a strict dress code for all participants; all players must NOT wear denim and all MALE competitors will be required to wear a shirt with a collar.
Caddies:
The use of caddies will be allowed for the age divisions Boys and Girls 10-11 and Coed 7-9 ONLY. Players may not have more than one (1) caddie at any time during the round, per USGA rules.
Player of the Year:
The Azalea Trail Junior Golf Classic will serve as the first opportunity to earn Player of the Year points in the East Texas Chapter of the NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation.
Area Championship:
This event will serve as a qualifier for the East Area Championship. All winners will receive an exemption into the 2008 East Area Championship to be conducted at Emerald Bay CC on Monday, August 11.
Exemptions:
The age group winners in the Boys 16-18, 14-15, 12-13 and Girls 15-18, 12-14 divisions will receive an exemption into the 2008 TylerPaper.com Championship on September 27-28 at Hollytree CC, which is conducted by the Legends Junior Tour. The winners from the Boys 16-18 and 14-15 divisions will also receive an exemption into the 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Junior Championship on June 30-July 2 at Lakewood CC.
